Welcome to Britain Direct. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our platform. Our mission is to provide a space for British patriots to engage in open dialogue, guided by a firm commitment to freedom of expression as protected under UK law. This document outlines your rights, your responsibilities, and our approach to content moderation within this legal framework.
Please Note: Britain Direct is a privately owned platform, not a registered business. It is a community project created and managed by a British citizen living abroad in Southeast Asia, with the goal of providing a dedicated space for genuine British people who are exhausted by the current social and political climate in the UK.
By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use our platform.
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use Britain Direct. By using our platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are competent to enter into these Terms.
While we champion open discourse, you are responsible for the content you post. You agree not to use Britain Direct for any unlawful purpose or to post content that violates UK law, including but not limited to:
To protect our community and comply with our legal duties (such as those under the Online Safety Act 2023), we reserve the right to moderate content. Our goal is to apply these rules proportionately and transparently. Enforcement actions may include:
We will strive to provide a clear appeals process for users who believe their content was removed in error, respecting the procedural fairness inherent in Article 10.
You retain full ownership of the content you create on Britain Direct. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your content on our platform. The Britain Direct name, logo, and platform technology are our exclusive property.
The Human Rights Act 1998, particularly through its incorporation of the ECHR, shapes our legal environment. While Section 10 of the HRA deals with the government's power to amend laws found incompatible with the ECHR, its impact on us is indirect. Legislative changes following court rulings (e.g., a "declaration of incompatibility" under Section 4) could alter our legal duties. We are committed to monitoring these legal developments to ensure our platform remains compliant and continues to serve as a bastion for lawful, patriotic expression.
Britain Direct offers subscription-based membership tiers to support the platform's ongoing development, hosting costs, and operational expenses. By subscribing to any paid tier, you agree to the following terms:
Britain Direct is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Britain Direct and its affiliates will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, our platform.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be on this page. By continuing to use Britain Direct after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us through the designated channels on the platform.
